Kodak Bails out on the Camera Business

Not that we all didn’t see it coming, but sadly enough Kodak is dumping it’s camera and camcorder divisions like a hot potato. Yesterday the bankruptcy-plagued Rochester, N.Y. based camera company announced plans to phase out it’s image capture devices branches by July of this year. What does this mean for the consumer? They will still service products that are on the market, and will be attempting to sell off their remaining stock of products as well as license their brand name out to interested companies to produce similar products. In short – nothing is really changing, Kodak is just cooling it’s heels for now. Do be looking for a large push of printing products to start pouring out onto the market relatively soon however, as that is where their focus will be directed.
